Abstract

Raquel Banda Farfán is a Mexican writer who has not received the notoriety she deserves; her literary quality warrants it, but, as I will try to argue, the sociohistorical context in which she developed affects the reception of her work. Inside the National Library of Mexico (BNM) are most of her books and, since the last of them, Nostalgia for Paradise, has just been included in the catalogue, I consider it opportune to turn my gaze towards her literature; On the one hand, her works are part of the narrative richness of Mexico and, on the other, in the more than 90 years of her life, her trajectory is made up of various clues about the literary circuit where she developed.
