About the Journal
Península is a peer-reviewed, refereed, multidisciplinary journal published by the Centro Peninsular en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (unam), located in Merida, Yucatan. This journal aims to promote contemporary research in Humanities and Social Sciences on topics related to South and Southeast Mexico as well as the Caribbean and Central America, although it is also open to other regions. Articles and critical reviews of new publications submitted for publication to our journal cannot be simultaneously under review by another publication. Entries should be original and may be written in Spanish, French, English and Yucatec Maya.
Specialists in the field will review the articles. In order to for the articles to be published they need to receive two favorable reviews. If one of the reviewers does not approve the article then we will submit it to a third reviewer. However, if an article receives two negative reviews it cannot be accepted for publication. The process is anonymous.
Once an article is accepted for publication, Península reserves the right to make the necessary changes in order to maintain our standards of publication. All authors whose works are published in our journal will receive two copies of the volume in which their article appears.
