Model for citations and bibliographical references in the body of the text

In all cases, the bibliographical references will be placed between parentheses at the end of the citation or paraphrase with the following data: author's first surname, year of publication, and page:

  • Raúl Renán points out: "The first decade of the 21st century has created a series of options for the elaboration, propagation and conservation of the book [...] that base their commitment on the portable book, without the need for paper" (Renán, 2001: 51). .

These data will be included even when the name of the author or the year of the cited publication has been mentioned before.

When two or more works by an author with the same year of publication are used, they will be distinguished with lower case letters (a, b, c): (Gutiérrez, 2005a: 36) or (Gutiérrez, 2005b: 16). In these cases, it is necessary to include these letters in the final bibliography.

When complete works are cited, it will be done as follows: (Borges, 1985, t. I: 45-73).

To refer to an article by an anonymous author, the first part of the title will be entered in parentheses followed by an ellipsis, immediately after the year of publication and the cited page will be entered: (“Essays. Alfonso Reyes…”, 1974: 2 ).

Model for final bibliography

Sort alphabetically by author; When several works by the same author are included, they will be ordered chronologically. If there are more than three authors, enter the last name and the first name followed by et al. All the data contained in the sources consulted will be included: author(s), coordinator, editor, director, full title, volume or volume, translator, place of publication, publisher, year, collection, series, etc. Abbreviations will not be used, except: et al. The publishers or institutions that participate in a publication will be separated with a diagonal; in the case of different dependencies of the same institution, they must be separated with commas.
