Abstract

Like many other vanguard creators, Artaud exposes an understanding of acting against the rules of intellectualism and psychology that were the bas-es of Realism and its poetic activities. Inspired by Jarry, Artaud expressed his considerations about the concepts associated with the figure of pup-pet, mannequin or automaton. His experimentations about the art of acting explored the actor ́s body based on the strategies of depersonalization. In order to express his mystical ideology, he takes the notion of puppet as the metaphor of humanity searching for the spiritual dimension.
